Stand outside your door when they come into the school, or your room. Smile and greet them with a "Good Morning!" A positive attitude is contagious in many ways.
Imagine the difference it makes when a student is thinking positively before they even walk into the room.
This also makes the students feel appreciated and special. Let them know that you want them there, and that you're glad they are going to be learning from you today.

Growing up in Los Angeles in the 90's, I cant even remember if any of my teachers practicing this.....
I'd like to know that my future kids would have a chance to have a great childhood and teens. And you know it always begin at home, and at school.
