This is very good information and a very good site. While Ritalin IS over prescribed ... there are many cases where it, or another medication, is appropriate.
The consequences of untreated ADHD are as they say and the symptoms are also as they say.
VERY GOOD site ... and valuable information.
i almost clicked away because i had the misfortune of reading some university professor whining about how adhd is such a hideous excuse and it doesn't exist. (evidently he's friends with tom cruise) i thought somehow i'd managed to stumble back there again.
glad to see someone posting about this. i'm an adult with adhd who'd love to do without the meds, but haven't found a better solution yet.
might wanna check out dr. amen's site as well. his book on healing add is really helpful.
nice site!

Great post! We need more people like you educating others about AD/HD!
ADHD is very REAL ... and is devastating if not properly treated. Even then it can rule a person's ENTIRE life ... I know as I was and am ADHAD and my 33 year old son is also.
It IS too frequently used as an excuse for bad behavior and drugs are too readily prescribed by doctors and demanded by parents. However, for those of us that it IS real for ... drugs are a way to live a normal life. And it is definitely NOT an excuse.
Great info and site. I'm President of a young Autism foundation called Treasure Souls. Our story can be read via my blog. We're still in the development stages but we hope to play a big role soon!
Well I think ADHD is a big, stinky illusion.
